FocusWriter Portable is a distraction-free word processor that does away many interface features. The auto-save feature is very useful and I appreciate the ability to set daily goals. You don’t even get to see the menus or icons of FocusWriter itself unless you move the mouse pointer up to the top of the screen. Users can opt to take FocusWriter out of full-screen mode as well, which will display the toolbar and status bar, but sort of misses the point of the application. If you are using a word processor, it is likely that you need to focus on getting words onto the page.
